Welcome to the new KDScope website.

We have a new look and feel.  We recently changed web hosts, and now have a site that is easier for us to maintain and to change as we develop new kaleidoscope designs.

Visit our new online store.

Economic conditions since the beginning of the 21st centuryhave not been kind to the arts and crafts industry.  We find that many of the art dealers who used to buy our products for resale are no longer in business, and those who are have been forced to cut back on their participation in the shows where we used to market our kaleidoscopes.  Somewhat reluctantly, we have decided to sell our kaleidoscopes on line, putting us in direct competition with the shopowners who have supported us for the past two decades.   We hope you like what you see here, and proceed to our online store.  And, even though we are proud of our own work, we invite you to see the work of other artists at the websites of the following galleries:  Kaleidoscopes to You, Cape Kaleidoscopes, and Nellie Bly.

Cozy's Happy Colors - Inspiration

Picture
The glaze on the original Cozy's happy colors was beautiful, but we had a problem with pinholes in the glaze, which created small sharp spots in the surface of the kaleidoscope. Then one day recently at the ceramic store, we found that even the manufacturer's sample bas those pinholes.  We also found the colorful glaze shown above which comes out of the kiln smooth and beautiful.  It's name?  Kaleidoscope.  That's eerie, huh?

Heart Scope

Picture
Valentine's day is only one day a year.  True love lasts for the other 364 days.

The heart scope lets you say "I love you" to that special person any time of the year.
The scope body is red glazed ceramic with a raised  white ceramic heart.  The objects that form the seven pointed image are
contained in a silicone oil filled clear chamber that smoothly rotates in a
precision machined aluminum assembly.

Monet

Picture
Our Monet scope has been one of our most popular ceramic kaleidoscopes, wit its' blue background with green and yellow strokes reminiscent of Monet's painting of lilies in a garden.

Black Magic

Picture
Black Magic was the culmination of our brass and aluminum kaleidoscopes.  In a reversal of colors, the brass barrel of the scope has been plated with a sleek black diamond coating, and the aluminum parts have been gold plated.
